 We love Disney...and we love Halloween! Soooooo, it seems natural to have a Disney Halloween Costume Contest!
Just snap a pic of you in your Disney inspired Halloween Costume! Then send it in. We will post some of them and pick a few winners. Rules are simple. Disney inspired, so that minion costume might be great and all, but it will not win! :) Also, if you send it to us you agree we may post it here on our site, on our blog, on our youtube pages bit.ly/jbatesballyoutube & bit.ly/dolewhipdad and some others too, on twitter twitter.com/dolewhipdad and anywhere else we can think of. The amount of retweets and likes your costume gets will be considered but in the end Dole Whip Dad will pick the winners. 5 winners will be picked and all will win Disney Pins! We love Disney Pin trading and are looking to create fun ways to meet other Disney Pin traders sooooo, if this is you, enter the contest! Also, this can be a little promo for our Disney Pins subscriptions we just announced! Check out the links if you are interested. I needed a fun way to display my Disney Pins....so my awesome wife created this amazing Mickey Cork Board! How cool is this????  Today was a lot of fun! I spent a lot of it creating and modifying the Disney Pin Trading sections right here on this webpage. We have a dream! That dream involves creating a life with MORE DISNEY!  So we are going all in on finding ways to have more Disney in our lives! Today I worked on Disney Pin trading! I looked for a subscription service to get pins coming to my kids....ok ok...and to me!
Well, after burning up the google searches, contacting the great people at Disney Stores directly and not finding a lot to add to our Pin Collections we decided to create it ourselves! So, check out the links under DISNEY PIN TRADING above. If you like what you see, contact us! If we get 1 person trading pins with us through these efforts it will be worth it. If it is the 1st few baby steps to a life filled with more Disney....WOO HOO!!! My family and I got back home from a great week in Orlando last night and all I can think about since walking through our door is going back! Disney has been a big part of my life and my family's life for, well, all of my life! The trip was awesome and needed! I haven't had a true vacation in way too long!
The family time and rest has me and my wife and daughters excited, and creative. We are already planning our next trip. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. We have been considering a few side projects for some time now, and we want to have more time with family....and with DISNEY! So, I am starting here, with this blog. Now the name of the blog was harder to pick than I would have suspected. Disney Dad, The Disney Life, Captain Jeff Sparrow and many others were talked about by my wife and kids, but in the end Dole Whip Dad was the winner. If you have never had, or heard of Dole Whip, well, fix your life! Get to Disney and try some! It is so good! Anyway, this is the very 1st post in what I hope will become a large part of my life and my family's life. I have a lot of Disney-based ideas. And even if no one follows, watches, or reads, I am going to love every minute of doing it! So, as the great Walt Disney said "All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."
